Vermont Historical Society Museum
Touch the past and experience Vermont's history! Give your senses a lift at the Vermont History Museum located in Montpelier, just two doors east of the State House, in the Pavilion Building. "Freedom and Unity: One Ideal, Many Stories," presents Vermont's historic personalities and landscape in a unique, interactive exhibit. Smell the scents from an old general store, touch a telegraph, sit in a WWII living room, see a movie about the Great Flood of 1927. Watch Vermonters in action in a compelling film that reflects the essence of the spirit in which the Green Mountain State was formed. Then take away with you a tangible memento of the Freedom and Unity experience; visit our museum store, which offers an array of gifts, books, videos, CDs, and audio cassettes. Call (802)828-2291, or visit www.vermonthistory.org, for museum hours.
